A FeW of My FavORitE ThiNGS FRiDaY

There's a small town south of us that has this wall, I know nothing about it, but it seems to have been done years ago, it's made of plates, some are now chipped and broken, but it's still a beautiful wall. I wonder what made someone put up such a wall, very shabby chippy

Not Sure What it is...

I found this interesting piece at a local flea market this weekend. Not sure what it's original purpose was.
I think it will look great hung in the kitchen for hanging towels.

Visit to High Cotton Antiques

The only thing better then visiting a great antique store is finding one that is housed in a great old building. The brick walls are just beautiful, and the rafters, great
Great booths throughout and many good finds, but the best ..

This gorgeous wardrobe with lower drawer in great periwinkle
more great finds, this hand painted farmscape. This little town is just loaded with unique stores. It's a real Gem and not far from home.

Visit to Clover Antiques

I made a trip to Clover today and found a few interesting stores, this one is just Clover Antiques, it's set in an old store with wonderful wooden floors, right on Main Street

Goodies were stacked deep from front to back

Love the mantles, these would be great free standing or as a headboard. This is a store I definitely have to keep in mind for my future decorating.

Fridge Memo Board

Ok so I can not take credit for this at all, I found the idea online, but for the life of me cannot remember where. Was it a blog? not sure, but anyway I gave it a try and here's how it turned out.

I took a thrift store bulletin board, which was cute in it's own, someone had covered it in fabric and with rick rack diamonds made a message center, problem was, that's just wasn't my style, and it was getting worn.
So I removed their handy work, spray painted the frame of the bulletin board black with plastic spray paint. I first tried a black I had on hand, but it didn't want to stick, so I went back to the hardware store for some plastic paint.

Then I cut a piece of fabric about 1/2" bigger than the cork in the bulletin board, sprayed the back with fabric glue, smoothed out the fabric, and used a butter knife to push the edges under the frame.
You could add a ribbon to the back of this and hang it from the wall, I magnetized it to the fridge at the door entry, now all our messages are all in one place. I also keep my husbands schedule there as it changes all the time.

Concrete is Poured

Here is the current work out at Shiloh. We've layed a concrete floor with the help of some friends.

I added a mosaic tile arch in the entryway, as the concrete was setting up I just pressed broken pieces of tile in a design I liked. Our youngest son and his friend where there to help with the concrete and with the tile, they thought it was cool.
Ya gotta have cute shoes..Hubby said I needed some boots for pouring concrete, he never said they couldn't be cute!

More Bathroom Inspiration

The more I search others Bathroom Ideas the more I want to add a little of everything to my own

love the rustic-ness of this one, I love enamel pots  and have a couple large ones that would work for this look,  the use of the handpump is great, of course it just uses these knobs to turn it on, but the look is still there
This tub is just eye candy, love the soothing colors of this bathroom
the use of the wood accents and that soothing paint color work so well together, I also like the idea of tile around the door frame
oh, to find a cabinet like this one, it is sooo charming, rustic but still chic
then this one with the light airy colors, just seems the opposite end of my taste from the rustic wooden baths
this one is way off the spectrum, it's too contemporary for me, but the idea of the tile pouring out of the tub and puddling on the floor, I just love it

another white airy bath, love this tub

Shiloh The Entrance

I just love the sound of a slamming screen door. I saw this wooden unpainted unstained pair during my last junkin escapade, I decided if they were still there on the way back I would get them. When I pulled up they were in very good condition, the only thing that would have made them better is if they were chippy with layers of paint like my doors are. But at $5 a piece into the back of my truck and home they went.
They are pictured here at Shiloh, you can see the newly poured concrete floor, the unfinished inside walls. Still a long way to go, but we've also come so far.

Here are the doors that will be used in the side entrance, the screen doors will go over these, so they need more character then they have now.
