End of Deer Season

Here we are at the end of Deer season. Richard and Kyle did go hunting a couple of times, but no luck. I've heard it from others, there just aren't as many deer out there as there used to be. We were lucky to get 2 deer from a friend that wasn't able to pick his up. So we brought them home and processed them ourselves. We enlisted the help of one of Kyle's friends as well. it was alot to get done in one night.
Our saw was at the land and we had limited tools here, so the guys got creative and used hedge clippers to cut the bones.
We ended up with about 50 lbs of meat that I either cute into cubes or ground. We decided against any fancy steak cuts. Richard placed the bigger bones in a large pot after we cut as much meat as possible off them first. After the meat fell off the bones, I picked out the bones and we saved the boiled meat. The rest of the goodies went into our already full freezer. I knew we were getting these deer so I cleaned out the freezer this past weekend. As you can see I have a shelf of catfish, a shelf of shrimp, a shelf of sausage and deer, the bottom tray is seasonal fruit, with misc scattered here and there. I've moved all items that only need to be reheated into the kitchen freezer.
